The 8 inch Western Pine log construction creates a rustic environment and excellent thermal mass which keeps the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer.  The entire ground floor is open with cedar beams spanning the entire width of the building. Each of the 2 floors plus the partially finished basement measures 28 feet by 32 feet.

 

A previous Franklin fireplace has been converted to a Regency Wood Burning Insert and can  heat the entire house without the use of the electric baseboard  heaters.

 

The Ground Floor has an enormous Dining/Living area and the Kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances   Included is a GE Profile series electric range, a Liebherr full height refrigerator, an 18 inch Miele dishwasher,a Panasonic microwave/air exhaust fan, and a Danby bar fridge in the Island counter.

 

The open pine stair brings you to the second floor where there are 3 bedrooms and one full recently renovated bathroom.  The rooms are  large and windows bring in sufficient natural light. 

 

A General Electric Washer and Dryer are located in the basement which is accessed through a trap door on the ground floor or through a large sliding basement door from the exterior.  The pressure tank and controls for the water pump are also located in the basement adjacent to the water heater and electrical panel.

 

The chalet is heated with  baseboard heaters in every room on the second floor, 4 baseboard heaters (controlled by one thermostat) on the ground floor and two units in the basement.
